My 9-year-old daughter really liked this tooth powder a LOT (she used it over all other toothpaste options), which surprised me because she didn't like tooth powders I've bought in the past. She actually used it more than me. I found myself reaching for my regular tube of toothpaste more often than the tooth powder simply because it's messy to use.Pros:- It tastes great! The wintergreen is super fresh and yummy. My daughter said it smells like root beer.- As far as effectiveness, I think it works very well. My teeth and mouth feel very clean and fresh when I used it. I can't say whether it helped with remineralizing or whitening because we didn't get to use it long enough (for reasons explained below).- I mean, I love everything about the powder itself - it's vegan, flouride free, from a USA small businesss.Cons:- It is very messy and somewhat difficult to use. They provide a little wooden scoop, like a test spoon, but it arrived cracked. We still used it even though it was cracked, but it's not going to last long as it's just thin wood, like tongue depressor material. They say to scoop some on to your toothbrush, but that just doesn't work very well. The easiest way to use it is to scoop a little into your palm, and then dip your wet toothbrush into your hand. Still, powder inevitably ends up all over the counter. Also, because the powder is quite dark, it makes a mess even when you spit, so you have to make sure to rinse/clean the sink after each time.- Again, it's hard to use. The current jar just doesn't work very well. Someone didn't screw the lid on properly, and when I picked it up by the lid, the bottom part dropped and the ENTIRE JAR of powder got dumped into the sink. 😭 So we only got to use it for a few weeks. There was probably like two-thirds of the powder left that got wasted.Conclusion: It's a great product but needs a better way to dispense it. Perhaps a spice type of jar with a shaker lid? That way you don't have to open and possibly jeopardize the entire jar of powder every time you use it. Also, the spoon doesnt even work very well, so may as well just have a shaker lid to shake some on your palm.To be clear, I am still giving this product 5 stars because I believe it is a good, effective product, and the jar issue is not unique to this particular tooth powder. I had the same issue with other tooth powders. The current jar seems to be the norm for tooth powders, so I don't think I can penalize this particular product for that. But PLEASE rethink your packaging.
