Very different and takes some getting used to. Overall, I really like it. The taste is like a normal tooth paste. Minty, but not so minty it burns. The texture is very smooth and bubbles like a regular tooth paste as well. Leaves mouth smelling fresh and even after the first use notice a brightness to my teeth. The only downside fall, since it is a power it can be a bit messy. The directions state to west your tooth brush then dip into the jar. I however don't feel that is sanitary so I just sprinkle it on over my tooth brush.
